Drunk stranger found asleep in family's home

A 20-year-old Westerville man was arrested Dec. 14 after he was found drunk and sleeping in someone else's home.

According to Westerville police reports, a 13-year-old boy woke to find the man sleeping in his bed with him. The boy woke up his father, who called police.

The homeowner told police that he believed the man entered his home through an unlocked door, removed his boots and coat and left them with a cell phone on a chair before going upstairs and getting into bed with the boy.

The drunken man also urinated on the floor of the boy's room, police reports said.

After several failed attempts, police woke the man, who they said was unsteady on his feet, confused and smelled of alcohol.

The man was charged with underage consumption and criminal trespass through Franklin County Municipal Court.

The man already was on probation through Delaware County, Westerville police said.
