Genoa Township police warn of theft from vehicles

A rash of theft from vehicles has Genoa Township police warning residents to remove anything valuable from their cars and to make sure that car doors are locked.

Overnight on Jan. 20, eight cars were entered in the Oaks at Highland Lakes neighborhood.

Thieves pried open the windows of locked vehicles, working quickly to take whatever they could grab, including electronics and money, police said.

Genoa Township police have taken 11 reports of theft from vehicles since Jan. 1, police said.

The crimes could be prevented by removing valuables from cars, police said.

Police have no suspects, and anyone with information should call Detective Molly Blevins at 614-568-2060.
