Two North students charged after fight at school

Two students at Westerville North High School, 950 County Line Road, were arrested and charged with assault, and one with illegal conveyance of a deadly weapon in a school zone at 8:45 a.m. Feb. 6.

According to Westerville police reports, the two girls, both minors, began physically fighting with one another in the presence of a female teacher. The teacher put herself between the girls to break up the fight, but the girls continued to punch and kick, striking each other and the teacher, reports said.

The school resource officer intervened, breaking up the fight and placing the two girls under arrest, reports said.

One of the girls was found to be in possession of a box cutter knife.

The two girls were charged through Franklin County Juvenile Court.

In other recent Westerville Division of Police reports:

* A book bag was reported stolen from a car parked in a driveway in the 200 block of Spring Hollow Lane between 7 p.m. Feb. 4 and 7:30 a.m. Feb. 5.

* A 19-year-old man, an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were arrested and charged with drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia at 2:20 p.m. Feb. 7.

The arrests followed a resident calling police to report a group of young men in a parked car smoking marijuana in the 100 block of Linda Court. Police found located the men and searched the car, finding scales and small amounts of marijuana.

Blendon Township

Blendon Township police reported a gun was stolen from the glove compartment of a car parked in the 2700 block of Kilbourne Avenue between 10 p.m. Feb. 6 and 6:50 a.m. Feb. 7.

* A utility trailer was reported stolen from the 5700 block of Buenos Aires Boulevard on Feb. 7.
