The Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications from artists for participation in the 40th annual Music & Arts Festival.
Categories for the festival include Fine Arts, encompassing acrylics, graphics, mixed media, oil, pastel, photography, digitally enhanced photography and watercolor; and Fine Crafts, encompassing basketry, ceramics, dolls, fiber, glass, metal, jewelry, leather, mixed media, sculpture and wood.
For review of the festival's Jury Committee, applicants must submit a completed application, four digital images of the applicant's works and one digital image of the applicant's booth, as well as a nonrefundable $20 jury fee.
All work must be of fine quality and be original work of the exhibitor, and a portion of the festival display must be original works of art, not prints.
Items that will not be accepted include imports, craft supplies or kits, commercially produced items, home-style crafts, manufactured beads or other mass-produced items or dried flowers.
Every application is reviewed by the festival Jury Committee, and selected artists will be notified in mid- April.
In addition to fine arts and crafts, the festival includes a heritage crafts section and the Westerville Walkway.
Heritage exhibitors must dress in period costumes and demonstrate their craft on site. Booths with an appearance that is characteristic of a heritage craft are encouraged.
The Westerville Walkway showcases local artists from the Westerville area and artists just emerging onto the festival scene.
The Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce Music & Arts Festival showcases between 150 and 170 exhibitors, and attracts about 18,000 visitors.
Applications to participate in the festival's Fine Arts, Fine Crafts, Heritage section and the Westerville Walkway can be found through the festival site link on the chamber website, WestervilleChamber.com.
The application deadline is March 15.
