The Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce's Women in Business committee will host a symposium next month meant to examine women's roles and the balancing of professional, personal and family life.

The half-day Women's Leadership Symposium, "Confidence: From the Family Room to the Board Room," be at 9 a.m. April 17 at the Medallion Club, 5000 Club Drive. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m.

The symposium will begin with a continental breakfast followed by breakout speakers that will include inspiring and dynamic women who will share their stories of overcoming adversity and creating thriving businesses.

Speakers will include Women for Economic and Leadership Development Executive Director Barb Smoot; Darla King, of King Business Interiors Inc.; and Portfolio Creative owner Catherine Lang-Cline.

During lunch, there will be a keynote address by Maj. Gen. Deborah A. Ashenhurst, Adjutant General of the Ohio National Guard.

The cost of the symposium is $40 for chamber members and $45 for others.
