Westerville resident is fundraiser's co-chair

Alan Weiler of Huntington Insurance has been named co-chairman of the Central Ohio Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's 2013 Light the Night Walk, LLS' annual fundraising event.

Weiler, of Westerville, is co-chairman with Phillip Smith of KPMG Audit.

Registration for the 2013 Columbus Light the Night Walk will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 12. The walk begins at 7:15 p.m. at John W. Galbreath Bicentennial Park.

Light the Night is a nationwide fundraising walk to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by blood cancers. The event is a one-mile evening walk during which participants carry illuminated balloons, with each color representing a group of people: White for survivors, red for Champions for Cures (supporters who have raised at least $100) and gold in memory of lost loved ones.

Funds raised through corporate and individual contributions help to find advanced therapies and cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma and to provide information, education and support for patients and their families.
