Thirteen people, all 19 or 20 years old, were arrested and charged with underage consumption of alcohol at 2:07 a.m. Saturday, April 27 during a party in the first block of West Park Street.
According to Westerville police reports, Otterbein police were notified by several students of a party at which underage people were drinking. Otterbein police notified Westerville police.
Police were welcomed into the house, where the 13 underage people were found hiding under a dark stairwell.
All admitted to drinking alcohol and were charged with underage consumption through Westerville Mayor's Court.
The 22-year-old man responsible for the party was not charged, according to Westerville police reports.
In other recent incident reports from the Westerville Division of Police:
* A vacant house in the 1200 block of Wallean Drive was broken into and badly vandalized between 6 p.m. April 25 and 2 p.m. April 26.
According to reports, the long-vacant home was recently sold and was being renovated by a real estate company. A contractor who arrived at the home on April 26 found it broken into, and every interior door had a hole punctured in it, cuts were made to new carpeting in most rooms and damage was done to a bathroom sink.
* A business' storage shed in the 100 block of Old County Line Road was broken into between 6 p.m. April 23 and 6 a.m. April 25. An air compressor, chop saw and related accessories were stolen.
* Thieves broke out the window of a vehicle parked in the lot of a business in the 200 block of South State Street between 4 and 4:15 p.m. April 23, stealing a purse that contained ID, a checkbook and credit cards.
* A man accidently shot himself in the hand at about 11:30 p.m. April 20 at his home in the 500 block of Bellfrey Court.
Police were called to the hospital where the man sought treatment the following day.
The man told police that he was handling a firearm in his living room when he accidentally pulled the trigger.
The bullet grazed the man's hand and lodged into a closet.
The man was not severely injured.
