9-year-old struck crossing W. Main

A 9-year-old boy riding a bicycle sustained minor injuries after being struck by a car after school Oct. 11 as he crossed West Main Street at Granby Place.

According to Westerville police reports, a group of children ran across the street, despite being asked to stop by a school crossing guard. The boy on the bicycle followed and was struck by a car turning westbound on Main Street from southbound Granby Place.

According to the driver and witnesses, the light for Granby Place was green and turned to yellow as the driver made his turn.

The boy was taken to OhioHealth's emergency room with a potential broken arm.
