Fourth-grade students Elizabeth Howard (left) and Elena Parks (right) watch as Becky Adams conducts a physics experiment with an egg at the Hanby Magnet School sponsored "SMARTS-athon," a fundraiser that stands for Science, Math and Arts and which took the place of a traditional walk-a-thon. Students collected sponsor money to participate in the "walk" through four learning stations, which included a bug petting zoo presented by Ohio State University's Insectary and Department of Evolution, Ecology and Organismal Biology; Everyday Physics hosted by MathWizard; Exploring Music, a workshop led by the Otterbein University Music Department; and An Archeology Adventure, sponsored by Westerville Partners for Education.
