Thieves gained access to two businesses in Dorchester Square, an office complex off Hillsdowne Road near State Street and Huber Village Boulevard, between 4:48 p.m. Nov. 8 and 8:43 a.m. Nov. 11, Westerville police reported.

Thousands of dollars in cash and materials were stolen from the businesses.

Police said the burglars broke into the building by forcing open a locked window.

Once inside, they stole approximately $4,000 in cash, two televisions, a DVD player, 12 bottles of prescription medicine, four bottles of wine and a projector, police reports said.

In other recent incident reports from the Westerville Division of Police:

* The catalytic converter was cut off a vehicle between 11:30 p.m. Nov. 9 and 9:30 a.m. Nov. 10 while it was parked in a lot in the first block of Merlin Drive.

* Two people were transported to Mount Carmel St. Ann's Hospital after their car crashed into a guard rail at 8:55 p.m. Nov. 12 on Cooper Road.

Westerville police reports said the driver swerved in an attempt to avoid striking a deer, lost control and ran into the guard rail.
