$24,000 worth of tools, equipment stolen from business

Thieves broke into a Westerville business and stole more than $24,000 worth of tools and equipment.

The theft occurred between 9 p.m. Dec. 1 and 7 a.m. Dec. 2 at a business in the 100 block of South State Street, Westerville police reported.

According to police reports, someone forced entry into the business and stole a piece of power equipment and the keys to the business' van, which was parked next to the business.

The van, which was full of tools and equipment, also was stolen.

Columbus police later recovered the van, but all of the tools had been removed.

Blendon Township

In recent reports from Blendon Township police:

•Multiple people reported Nov. 27 that they were robbed in the 4300 block of Bitterroot Avenue.

•Copper pipes were reported stolen Nov. 27 from a vacant building in the 2700 block of Minerva Avenue.

•A woman's purse was stolen from her unlocked vehicle Nov. 30 while the vehicle was parked in a lot in the 6200 block of Sunbury Road. Blendon Township police apprehended the suspected thieves.
