Westerville police are asking the public for help in finding the suspects involved in a Dec. 23 armed robbery outside the Deals store in the Westerville Shopping Center.

Reports said a man armed with a handgun and wearing a red bandanna over his face approached an employee at closing time, about 11:40 p.m., outside the Deals Nothing Over a Dollar store at 581 S. State St.

He exited an older model silver or gray Cadillac and confronted the employee, brandished a black handgun and demanding money before stealing the night deposit bag, containing an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robber jumped back into the passenger seat of the car, which had heavily tinted windows, before it drove away westbound on West Schrock Road. No description of the driver was obtained.

Police report the gunman was black and approximately 5-foot-10. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt, black leather jacket and black pants.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Westerville police at 614-882-7444.
