U.S. Congressman Pat Tiberi (R-Genoa Township) has announced his nominees for admission to the U.S. Service Academies' classes of 2018.
Tiberi nominated 29 students from Ohio's 12th Congressional District for appointment to one of five U.S. Service Academies. Each academy will evaluate each student for admission based on evidence of character, scholarship, leadership, physical aptitude, medical fitness, goals and motivation in determining each nominee's "whole-person" evaluation.
Westerville nomines include:
* Nick Chatel, son of Becky and Paul Chatel, Westerville North High School, the U.S. Military Academy.
* Benjamin Miser, son of Rachel and Jeffrey Miser, Vilsek High School (Germany), the U.S. Military Academy and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
* Samuel Richards, son of Christine and Thomas Richards, Westerville North High School, the U.S. Military Academy.
* Michael Skunda, son of Patricia DiNunzio and Michael Skunda, St. Francis DeSales High School, the U.S. Military Academy and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
