Living History presenter Cynthia Hoskey, portraying Sara Bush Johnson Lincoln, the stepmother of Abraham Lincoln, shared stories of hardship and celebration with students at Annehurst Elementary School Feb. 14. She told of being widowed and left with three small children to care for before Thomas Lincoln, a widower, traveled to Kentucky to ask for her hand in marriage. She spoke of family dynamics and Abraham Lincoln's journey to the presidency. Hoskey was a classroom teacher for 32 years until she retired from the Highland Local Schools in 1999. She was a Living History performer for the Statehouse until 2009. She now performs for the Ohio Historical Museum and the Historical Village.
