The 11th Annual Westerville Area Chamber Taste of Westerville event was held April 25 at The Lakes Golf & Country Club.
For the second year in a row the event sold out, and in this case, three weeks in advance! With 300 attendees in 2013 and 330 in 2014, not to mention the number of people on the wait list, the Taste of Westerville is quickly becoming one of the chamber’s most popular events, and for good reason!
While at the Taste of Westerville, local business owners, community leaders and Westerville residents sampled delicious dishes from local food providers such as braised veal meatballs, spicy shrimp cocktail, cheese and chicken quesadillas, tortilla burgers, crab cakes and so much more. Food samples were complemented with red and white wines from around the world and local wine maker Good Vibes, as well as beer from North High Brewing.
Attendees enjoyed signature dishes provided by 23 food vendors including: A Twist on Olives, Bel Lago Waterfront Dining, Benihana, Buffalo Wild Wings, Chef Honda, Cheryl’s, Chocolaterie Stam, Earth Fare, Friendship Village of Columbus, Giammarco’s Pizza & Pasta, Gigi’s Cupcakes, Great Harvest Bread Co., Giant Eagle, Jason’s Deli, The Lakes Golf & Country Club, Matt the Miller’s Tavern, Max & Erma’s, Nicole’s Catering, Old Bag of Nails Pub, Polaris Grill, The Rusty Bucket, Sandman Gourmet Deli & Catering and The Wine Bistro.
Winners in the taste test awards were:
Nicole’s Catering, for its Chicken New Orleans.
The Lakes Golf & Country Club, for its cheese and chicken quesadillas
Polaris Grill, for its crab cakes.
Polaris Grill also won the People’s Choice award in 2013 for Louisiana Gulf shrimp with grit cakes.
