Come shuffle along with young professionals June 6

The Westerville Area Chamber Young Professionals Network invites residents to its Fifth Annual Uptown Shuffle, featuring an Amazing Race-style scavenger hunt among Uptown Westerville businesses. The event is open to ages 21 and older and will be held Friday, June 6. Costumes are encouraged

This year, the event will feature 30 businesses along the shuffle route, interactive activities throughout the course of the event, a variety of items from local businesses in the raffle/silent auction and more. All funds raised will benefit the Young Professionals Network and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio.

In past years, the Uptown Shuffle has benefited nonprofits such as the Westerville Area Resource Ministry, Relay for Life, CHA Animal Shelter and the Huckleberry House.

The Uptown Shuffle will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with a pre-party on the third floor of the Old Bag of Nails Pub, 24 N. State St. The shuffle will begin at 6:30 p.m., with each team assigned to a different route.

Once the shuffle routes are completed, participating team members are invited to return to the Old Bag for an after-party celebration, where prizes will be awarded to the winning team, the team with the craziest outfits and more.

All shuffle participants will receive a goodie bag, two drink tickets and light appetizers throughout the evening.

Many items will be featured in the raffle/silent auction, including: a two-hour, 15-person pedal wagon pub-crawl, donated by Pedal Wagon Columbus; two tickets to the July 19 Columbus Crew vs. Montreal Impact game and two Crew scarves; brewery tour and tasting for four at North High Brewing; and a gift certificate to Schmidt's Sausage Haus & Restaurant

"Everyone who likes to support local businesses should consider participating in the Westerville Uptown Shuffle! It's a great opportunity to have fun and explore some of the unique shops in the Uptown area. I had no idea that many of these businesses were here or what they offered. ... Now I'm constantly recommending them to friends and family," said Vincent Neal of KEMBA Financial Credit Union and the Westerville Young Professionals Network Committee chairman.
