* 7th annual LEGO Competition, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, July 17. Ages 6 to 12 can bring blocks to the library and create something wonderful. See and vote on the creations Friday, July 18. Invite friends and families to the reception from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, July 19. Meeting rooms. Registration required.

* Books & Blocks, 6:30 to 7:15 p.m., Thursday, July 17. Ages 3-6 can enjoy a short storytime, then create characters and objects from the stories with toy building materials. Activity Center. Registration required.

* Upcycle Craft Club, 6:30 to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 17. Turn ordinary objects into extraordinary crafts. All ages and skill levels will make felt citrus coasters. Supplies will be provided. Meeting Room B. Registration required.

* Friendship Bracelets, 3 to 4 p.m., Saturday, July 19. Teens ages 12 to 18 experienced at making friendship bracelets or interested in learning will enjoy knotting up some arm decor everyone will love. Activity Center. Registration required.

* Sweet Science Treats, 7 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 21. Ages 12 and up will create sweet science treats by making ice cream and sorbet in a bag and rock candy to go. Meeting Room A. Registration required.

* Kindle Fire Tutorial, 7 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 22. Learn some of the basic functions of a Kindle Fire along with some tricks and tips. For the Kindle Fire Tablet only. Conference Room. Registration required.

* Magnetic Silly Putty, 3 to 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 23. Teens can upgrade silly putty into magnetic serious putty with a little science wizardry in this workshop. Activity Center. Registration required.

* The Library at Farmers Market, 3 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, July 23. Visit the Community Partner Tent each fourth Wednesday, May through October. Shoppers can browse cookbooks and pick up a new recipe card each month. Coloring sheets, crayons and books will be available for the kids while you shop. Located at North State and East Home.

* Friends Ice Cream Social & Music, 7 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, July 24. Enjoy live music, ice cream and toppings at the 21st annual ice cream social sponsored by the Friends of the Westerville Public Library. Face painting provided by Westerville Parks & Recreation. Suggested donation is $1 per sundae. Library lawn. Stories for kids at 7 and 7:30 p.m. in the Meeting Rooms.

* Model Airplane Display & Library Fly Day. Visit the display 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, July 25, at the library, then from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, come to Alum Creek Park (flying field is east of the dam at 6590 Africa Road) to see radio-controlled planes. Trainers will help children in trial flights. Hosted by the Westerville Model Aeronautics Association.
