Do you love Westerville? Do you want to get to know the area better, learn more about its government and services provided? Do you work or live within the Westerville City School District? Do you want to meet and interact with a great group of people, all while learning more about yourself? If the answer to these questions is yes, you should strongly consider applying for the Leadership Westerville program.
The Leadership Westerville program is a nine-month program, meeting once per month from September through May. Each month, the focus of the full-day meeting is different, ranging from Myers Briggs Tests, effective communication techniques, to learning the ins and outs of the city of Westerville and its history. Topics of the program include:
* Leadership and Self Awareness;
* Westerville Past and Present;
* Group Dynamics;
* Education in Westerville;
* Servant Leadership;
* Effective Communication;
* Business and Community Services in Westerville;
* Emotional Intelligence; and
* Strengths Based Leadership.
"Leadership Westerville provides the perfect opportunity for citizens and local employees to become equipped with the skills to become the leaders in our community and their workplace. Through a carefully crafted curriculum, participants will build leadership skills and develop a healthy sense of self, clarity of purpose, respect for diversity and the desire to serve the community for the common good," said Phyllis Self, executive director of Leadership Westerville.
Eligible applicants must work or reside in the Westerville school district. Tuition for each participant is $700. The deadline to apply for the 2015 Leadership Westerville class is Aug. 31.
