Former Ohio State and NFL football player Chris Spielman is holding the fourth-annual Chris Spielman Football Camp from 5:30-8:30 p.m. July 19-21 at Dublin Coffman High School for boys and girls ages 7-14. Spielman will be at the camp to direct activities and help provide instruction, in addition to various local high school and college coaches. Ohio State coach Jim Tressel is a featured guest at the camp.

The third annual Gridiron Classic has announced the matchups for this season. On Aug. 27, Westerville North plays at Worthington Kilbourne at 7 p.m. and Hilliard Bradley plays at Dublin Scioto at 7:30 p.m. Westerville South plays at Groveport at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 28. On Sept. 3, Hilliard Darby plays at Dublin Jerome at 7 p.m. and Brookhaven plays at Hilliard Davidson at 7:30 p.m.

Genoa Township and the Genoa Firefighters Local 4307 is co-hosting the Genoa Firefighters MDA 5K run/walk and a kids fun run for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The event takes place at 9 a.m. July 17 with proceeds going to the MDA on behalf of the firefighters' union.

The Kirk Herbstreit Varsity Football Series is Sept. 5 and 6 at Ohio Stadium with doubleheaders taking place on both days. All four games will be televised live on ESPN or ESPNU.

On Sept. 5, Dublin Coffman plays Westerville South in the first game of the day and Huber Heights Wayne plays Canton McKinley in the second game. On Sept. 6, Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) William T. Dwyer plays Cleveland Glenville in the first game and Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Frommel Smith plays Pickerington Central in the second game.
