Westerville North High School senior Austin Weygandt committed to play football at Ashland, according to North coach Mike Owens.
Weygandt, an inside linebacker, had 67 tackles, six tackles for loss and two forced fumbles.
"I think the biggest thing for him is he's got good size and a good frame," Owens said. "Whether he stays at linebacker or moves to defensive end, he'll fill out, get stronger and be a good player for them."
Ashland, a Division II program, competes as a member of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Coached by Lee Owens, the Eagles were 8-3 last year and have competed in the NCAA national playoffs four times, including 2007 and 2008.
Weygandt also considered Tiffin and Robert Morris.
