The Westerville North High School boys lacrosse team avenged a regular-season loss to Westerville South by beating the Wildcats 8-7 in overtime May 17 in a play-in game in the Division I Central Region tournament.

The Warriors had lost to the Wildcats 11-7 on May 5.

North lost to second-seeded Upper Arlington 11-2 in the first round May 19 to finish 6-12.

In the rematch with South, Ryan Buck scored 30 seconds into sudden-death overtime. Mason Belding had three goals, Buck and Eric Eichhorn each scored two and Peter Sandvik scored one.

Goalkeeper Jeremy Schocken had 22 saves.

Against UA, Sandvik and Mitch Weisgerber scored.

The North girls team lost to Mentor 14-3 in the first round of the Division I North/Central Region tournament May 14 to finish 4-12.

Central boys, girls fall in tourney openers

The Central boys team lost to Gahanna 15-10 in a play-in game in the Division I Central Region tournament May 17 to finish 8-7.

The Central girls team lost to Olentangy Orange 24-9 in the first round of the Division I North/Central Regional tournament May 14 and defeated Big Walnut 12-5 in a regular-season game May 15 to finish 5-12.

South boys, girls fall in tourney openers

The South boys team finished 5-14 after losing to North.

Michael King had four goals against the Warriors while Connor McDonald scored two and Lucas Gall scored one.

Goalie Luke Rapp had 12 saves.

The South girls team lost to Toledo Notre Dame Academy 13-7 in the first round of the Division I North/Central Regional tournament May 14 and lost to Hilliard Bradley 15-5 in a regular-season game May 15 to finish 6-10.
