The Westerville Central High School boys basketball team remained atop the OCC-Cardinal Division after a 64-50 win Jan. 24 at Canal Winchester.

The Warhawks were 11-4 overall and 8-1 in the league before playing Hilliard Bradley on Jan. 29.

Westerville South was second in the league at 7-2, followed by Dublin Jerome (6-2), Westerville North (5-3) and Hilliard Darby (5-4).

Central visits North on Friday, Jan. 31, and plays host to South on Tuesday, Feb. 4.

Against Canal Winchester, the Warhawks led 48-41 after three quarters and outscored the Indians 16-9 in the fourth. Eric James led Central with 15 points, Erron James had 14 and Jalen Malone added 12.

Central lost at Pickerington Central 74-67 on Jan. 21. Kwamel Wade scored 29 points, Malone had 18 and Erron James added 12.

Jae'Sean Tate, an Ohio State signee, scored 31 points for Pickerington Central.

South winsat Bradley

South remained second in the OCC-Cardinal following a 69-54 win at Bradley on Jan. 24.

The Wildcats had five players score in double figures, led by Chris Cook's 14 points. Jelani Rogers scored 13, Jordan Humphrey had 12 and Andre Wesson and Daylan Haynie each scored 11.

South has won five con-secutive games and is 11-3 overall entering its game Friday, Jan. 31, against visiting Darby.

North cruisespast Scioto

North won 84-34 at Dublin Scioto on Jan. 24 led by Isaiah Keene's 22 points. R.J. Hutcherson scored 19, Jalen Hearn had 12 and Justin Bennett added 11.

The Warriors led 21-6 after one quarter and outscored the Irish 31-1 in the second.

North won 61-55 in overtime Jan. 21 at Canal Winchester. Corey Benton had 23 points, Keene scored 17 and Hutcherson had 12.

The Warriors lost to Walnut Ridge 63-42 in the Play-By-Play Classic on Jan. 25 at Ohio Dominican. Hutcherson scored 13 points.

North is 7-8 overall entering its home game Friday, Jan. 31, against Central.
