Both teams are 5-0 in the league.

The Warriors close their league schedule at home against Dublin Scioto on Feb. 6, while the Jaguars face Hilliard Darby that day in their OCC-Cardinal finale.

North competed Jan. 29 at home against Delaware in a Region 5 semifinal of the Division I state team tournament. The winner faced Lancaster or Teays Valley in the regional final after the first match.

The regional champion advanced to the state quarterfinals Feb. 8 at Ohio State's St. John Arena.

In the first round Jan. 22 at Olentangy, the Warriors -- who were seeded first in Region 5-B -- defeated eighth-seeded Whetstone 84-0. North then defeated fourth-seeded Olentangy 51-20 in the second round to advance to face Delaware, which was seeded second in Region 5-B.

Against Olentangy, winners by pin for the Warriors were Kalven Thomas at 113 pounds (1 minute, 32 seconds), Santino DiSabato at 126 (2:17), Don Didion at 132 (1:57), Brandon Goldsmith at 145 (2:40), Hunter Sintobin at 152 (2:45), Jakob Hinz at 170 (33 seconds), Nick Kramer at 195 (3:52)

North lost two matches Jan. 18, falling to host Aurora (Ill.) Marmion Academy 37-30 and Lombard (Ill.) Montini Catholic 45-21.

South wins homedual tournament

South won the six-team Westerville South Duals on Jan. 25, defeating St. Charles 49-30 in the championship match.

The Wildcats also defeated Westland 43-27, Liberty Union 55-24 and a combined team of wrestlers from Independence and Columbus South 57-6.

Caleb Llaneza is 23-0 at 152, Adam Thesing is 13-6 at 195, Evan Trainer is 12-6 at 160 and Mike Thesing is 10-8 at 170.

The Wildcats are 2-3 in the OCC-Cardinal entering a league match Thursday, Jan. 30, at Dublin Jerome.

Central falls instate tournament

Central lost at Delaware 64-3 in the first round of the state team tournament Jan. 22.

The Warhawks were seeded seventh in Region 5-B.

On Jan. 25, Central finished ninth (36) in the 10-team Cruiser Invitational at Groveport behind champion Bradley (233.5). Adam Lowe was third at 170.

The Warhawks are 1-4 in the OCC-Cardinal entering a league match Thursday, Jan. 30, at Canal Winchester.
