Whitehall superintendent to retire next year

Longtime Whitehall City Schools Superintendent Judyth Dobbert-Meloy announced this week that she plans to retire next year.

Dobbert-Meloy handed board members her letter of resignation Aug. 9, during an executive session meant to discuss her annual review following the board’s regular monthly meeting.

After 48 years in education, Dobbert-Meloy said, “it's time.”

“While this letter is difficult to write, I feel that it is in the best interest of the district to formalize my plans for retirement in order that there will be ample time for you to select a new superintendent for the district and to make a smooth transition in leadership,” she said in her resignation letter.
