Visitor hit with gun, robbed at apartment

A 23-year-old Kentucky man told Whitehall police he was assaulted and robbed at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 20 at an apartment in the first block of Collingwood Avenue.

The man and his girlfriend, a 28-year-old Newark woman, told police they were at the apartment of another couple when two men struck the victim with the handle of a pistol and took money from his pocket. He reported a Rolex watch and his wallet, containing a driver's license and $9,554, were stolen.

In other police news:

* An employee reported a gas station in the 3500 block of East Main Street was robbed at 9:15 p.m. Nov. 18. The employee said a man wearing a black scarf over his face handed him a note that said, "Give me money." The man displayed a knife and took an undisclosed amount of cash before running away, police said.

* A theft was reported at 9:15 a.m. Nov. 17 in the 4400 block of East Mound Street.

* Property destruction was reported at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 17 in the 400 block of North Hamilton Road.

* Police reported a burglary at 2 p.m. Nov. 18 in the 1100 block of Simpson Drive.

* A 35-year-old man was arrested at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 18 for assault and domestic violence in the 800 block of Westphal Avenue.

* Police arrested a juvenile at 9:15 a.m. Nov. 19 for theft at a store in the 3900 block of East Broad Street.

* A burglary was reported at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 19 at an apartment in the 1000 block of Irongate Lane.

* An assault was reported at 1:35 p.m. Nov. 19 in the 200 block of Barkley Place West.

* Police arrested two women at 7 p.m. Nov. 19 for theft and possession of criminal tools at a store in the 3600 block of East Main Street.

* A breaking and entering was reported at 10 p.m. Nov. 19 at a business in the 200 block of South Hamilton Road.

* Police reported a domestic dispute at 7:15 a.m. Nov. 20 at an apartment in the 5300 block of Great Oak Drive.

* A vehicle was reported stolen at 9 a.m. Nov. 20 in the 100 block of Beechtree Road.

* Police reported a vehicle was stolen at 3:45 p.m. Nov. 20 in the first block of Maplewood Avenue.

* Officers responded to a report of a person with a gun at 5:45 p.m. Nov. 20 at an apartment in the 400 block of South Yearling Road. No arrests were made.

* Police arrested a 25-year-old woman for theft at 6:15 p.m. Nov. 20 after responding to a disturbance call at an apartment in the 4600 block of East Main Street.

* A burglary was reported at 12:15 a.m. Nov. 21 at a residence in the 5100 block of Doral Avenue.

* A vehicle was reported stolen at 7:35 a.m. Nov. 21 in the 600 block of Fairway Boulevard.

* A theft was reported at 1:45 p.m. Nov. 21 in the 900 block of South Hamilton Road.

* Police responded to a report of a disturbance at 12:45 a.m. Nov. 22 at an apartment in the 4600 block of East Main Street.

* A theft was reported at 11:20 a.m. Nov. 22 from the 4800 block of East Main Street.

* Police arrested a 59-year-old man at 1:45 a.m. Nov. 23 for OVI and traffic violations in the 900 block of Elaine Road.

* Police arrested a 19-year-old man at 2 a.m. Nov. 23 for theft at a store in the 3600 block of East Main Street.

* Property destruction was reported at 10:20 a.m. Nov. 23 in the first block of South Hamilton Road.
