Whitehall-Yearling High School Key Club officers (from left) Emily Hamler (secretary), Katlyn O'Neil (historian), Amina Abokor (treasurer) and Esmeralda Hernandez (vice president), all seniors, record their first weekly donation winner during their annual Pennies for Patients campaign.

For a decade, the group has been collecting money for those fighting leukemia and lymphoma and has increased its goal to $2,000 this year.

The Key Club will collect change every day for the next month.

Classes could earn weekly prizes and rewards for the most money raised.

This is the first year the group has displayed classroom donations in the hallway and is hoping it spurs more giving.
