Man robs store, flees, resists arrest, gets Tased

Police arrested a 24-year-old man at 8:45 a.m. Feb. 22 for traffic violations, fleeing, menacing, assault and resisting arrest.

Police responded to a store in the 3600 block of East Broad Street, where an assault reportedly had occurred, and then learned the man had fled in a vehicle. The man disregarded traffic signals before stopping the car in the 3400 block of Broadmoor Avenue and running away.

Police chased the man into a residence, where he resisted arrest and was apprehended after police used a Taser.

In other Whitehall police reports:

* A 16-year-old Reynoldsburg girl told Whitehall police someone she knows assaulted and robbed her at 3:50 p.m. Feb. 24 in the 4200 block of East Main Street.

The girl reported an ex-boyfriend struck her several times on the head and then took a purse she had dropped and fled in a vehicle another person was driving.

* Police reported an assault and robbery at 10:50 p.m. Feb. 27 in the 1000 block of South Hamilton Road. The alleged victim went to a hospital after the robbery. An employee at the hospital reported the incident on behalf of the patient, who said a person hit him in the face with a gun and took his property. The man left the hospital without giving any personal information.

* A theft was reported at 2:20 p.m. Feb. 21 in the first block of Pinewood Drive.

* Police arrested a 25-year-old woman at 10:15 p.m. Feb. 21 for theft in the 3900 block of East Broad Street.

* A burglary was reported at 9:40 a.m. Feb. 22 at an apartment in the 5100 block of Longbranch Drive.

* Police arrested a 56-year-old man at 3 p.m. Feb. 22 for assault and domestic violence in the 4200 block of East Mound Street.

* Police arrested a 48-year-old man at 9 p.m. Feb. 22 for OVI, traffic offenses and driving without a license at East Main Street and Rosemore Avenue.

* A 29-year-old man was arrested at 11:30 p.m. Feb. 22 for OVI and leaving the scene of an accident in the 3900 block of East Broad Street.

* Police reported a burglary at 1:15 p.m. Feb. 23 in the 4400 block of Etna Road.

* A burglary was reported at 10 p.m. Feb. 23 in the first block of Woodcliff Drive.

* Police responded to a report of shots fired at 11:10 p.m. Feb. 23 in the 500 block of Cumberland Drive. No physical evidence or suspects were identified.

* Police arrested a 55-year-old man at 9 a.m. Feb. 24 for theft in the 5100 block of East Main Street.

* A vehicle was reported stolen at 4:10 p.m. Feb. 24 in the 4600 block of Morris Avenue.

* Police reported a vehicle was stolen at 1:20 p.m. Feb. 25 in the 5100 block of East Main Street.

* An assault was reported at 3:40 p.m. Feb. 25 in the 3900 block of East Broad Street.

* Police arrested a 51-year-old man at 1:15 a.m. Feb. 26 for OVI and traffic offenses in the 800 block of South Hamilton Road.

* An assault was reported at 8:05 a.m. Feb. 26 in the 4800 block of Langley Avenue.

* Police reported an assault at 9:25 a.m. Feb. 26 in the 4300 block of East Mound Street. An assault was reported at the same location at 1:15 p.m.

* An assault was reported at 11:50 a.m. Feb. 26 in the 4200 block of Doney Street.

* Police arrested a 42-year-old man at 12:05 a.m. Feb. 27 for OVI and traffic offenses at East Broad Street and North Hamilton Road.

* Police responded to a report of shots fired at 11:40 a.m. Feb. 27 in the 4000 block of Ural Avenue. No physical evidence or suspects were identified.

* An assault was reported at 6:10 p.m. Feb. 27 in the 4600 block of East Broad Street.

* Police responded to a report of shots fired at 9:10 p.m. Feb. 27 in the 5000 block of Greenwood Court.

* A theft was reported at 1:55 a.m. Feb. 28 in the 4600 block of East Broad Street.

* Police arrested a 36-year-old man at 3:10 a.m. Feb. 28 for OVI and traffic offenses at East Main Street and McNaughten Road.
