Whitehall police arrested an 18-year-old man for aggravated robbery, carrying a concealed weapon and felony fleeing at 2 p.m. March 21 following an attempted robbery at Whitehall Community Park, 402 N. Hamilton Road.

Police arrested Ishante Keon Patton, of Lowridge Drive, Canal Winchester.

An 18-year-old Whitehall man told police two males robbed him at gunpoint at Whitehall Community Park.

Police observed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect's vehicle traveling north on South Hamilton Road, at Etna Street, and attempted to stop the driver, later identified as Patton.

Police said Patton had failed to stop for police. Patton turned around in a parking lot, nearly caused a crash re-entering South Hamilton Road and fled from police at speeds of almost 70 mph, traveling south on South Hamilton Road.

Patton then struck cars stopped at a red light at East Main Street, ran a red light and turned west on East Main Street. After making the turn, Patton fled on foot from the vehicle. Officers apprehended a passenger who remained in the vehicle.

A pistol was found under Patton's seat, police said.

Several officers pursued Patton on foot and arrested him inside a tattoo parlor in the 1100 block of South Hamilton Road.

The passenger, Shaquille K. Deramus, 20, 498 S. Hamilton Road, was arrested for aggravated robbery and possession of marijuana.
