The Columbus-Whitehall Toastmasters Club will hold its first meeting at a new location, the MCL Cafeteria at 5240 E Main St., on Tuesday, June 11.
The club will continue to meet at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month.
The club had met at the Whitehall Municipal Building for at least 15 years. In appreciation for use of the space, club president Benjamin N. Okwumabua presented a commemorative plaque to the city of Whitehall May 28. Accepting on behalf of Mayor Kim Maggard was Zach Woodruff. Also participating in this presentation were past Columbus-Whitehall Toastmasters Club presidents Charley Ashley, Dana Rogers, Vanessa Sutton, Vanita Thomas and Paul Wills.
The club's meetings are open to the public.
The mission of a Toastmasters Club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.
