Whitehall branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library, Summer Reading Club lunches for those ages 17 and younger, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. June 28 through July 3 and July 5, 4371 E. Broad St. The reading club will run through Aug. 3. Ohio Chautauqua, July 16-20 at locations throughout Bexley. The five-day event offers a mix of education and entertainment with daily interactive workshops for children and adults. Musical performances and living history presentations will follow each evening under the red and white tent on Capital University's front lawn, located on Main Street just west of Memorial Gateway. All events are free and open to the public.
Goodwill Columbus and RecycleForce Columbus, e-waste collection event, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 27 at Goodwill, Black Creek Shopping Center, 6847 E. Broad St. The collection will include unwanted consumer and business electronic products and equipment, such as computers and their components, VCRs, DVD players, tapes, CDs, stereos, telephones, cell phones, PDAs, cameras, chargers, power adapters, printers, copiers, scanners, fax machines, ink and toner cartridges, networking equipment (servers, routers), cable cords and connectors, Lithium Ion (rechargeable) batteries, digital cable boxes, MP3 players, video game systems, stereo equipment, audio-video equipment, and appliances (microwave, fitness equipment, vacuums, etc). Goodwill Columbus does not accept televisions or monitors. However, RecycleForce Columbus will accept both for a $5 disposal fee for computer monitors and televisions up to 27 inches and $10 disposal fee for televisions larger than 27 inches.
Whitehall Parks and Recreation offers ongoing exercise classes at the Whitehall Activity Center, 402 N. Hamilton Road. Aerobics classes start at 7 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays. Yoga is offered at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays and 7 p.m. Thursdays. Both drop-in classes cost $3 per visit. For more information, call 614-863-0121.
