The man told police he was walking south on Robinwood Avenue when a person in a passing vehicle yelled a racial epithet at him. The man yelled a response, according to the report.

The vehicle continued southbound, police said.

The man told police he continued walking and was eastbound on Beechbank Road when he felt something knock an earphone from his head.

When he turned around, he saw a male pointing a gun at his head and say, "Who's the (expletive) now?" repeating the word the man had used moments earlier.
