Whitehall resident Howard Roberson recently was named Associate of the Month at Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime.
Roberson, a customer account specialist in Maritime Customer Operations who specializes in supporting the Seawolf class of submarines, was recognized by DLA Land and Maritime Commander Navy Rear Adm. (Sel.) David Pimpo during a presentation in his work area.
Roberson, a Pickerington High School graduate who has three years of service with DLA after serving eight years in the U.S. Army, supports the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard by working to improve deliveries in order to support the shipyard's critical mission to maintain and modernize the U.S. fleet.
In particular, Roberson is assigned to work all support issues for the three submarines in the Seawolf class, especially high-priority items. He was lauded for his efforts to save the government money by ensuring Navy ships and submarines are not in drydock for repairs and updates any longer than necessary.
