Whitehall: Man hears gunshot, realizes he was shot in hand

Whitehall police reported a man was shot in the hand at 11:15 a.m. Sept. 19 in the first block of South Hamilton Road.

The man told police he had been walking from his apartment to a carryout when he heard a gunshot and realized he had been shot. He could not identify who fired the gun. The man called police from another location. Whitehall medics transported him to Grant Medical Center.

In other Whitehall Division of Police incident reports:

* A woman told police she was robbed at gunpoint at 2:15 p.m. Sept. 14 at East Main Street and South Yearling Road.

Two men allegedly pointed a gun at her and demanded that she empty her pockets. The robbers took her iPhone 4, police said.

* An elderly man told police he was robbed by a woman he had arranged to meet at a hotel in the 3900 block of East Main Street.

The man told police he had negotiated with the woman, who asked to "see the money."

The man took out $605. The woman grabbed the money and pushed him into a wall while escaping, police said. The man provided cellphone numbers to police for both the woman who took the money and a woman who helped arrange the meeting.

* Police arrested two boys, ages 15 and 17, for disorderly conduct at 3:35 p.m. Sept. 17 at Whitehall-Yearling High School, 675 S. Yearling Road.

* Police reported a burglary at 1 p.m. Sept. 12 in the 100 block of Schofield Drive.

* Police arrested a 23-year-old man for receiving stolen property at 4:45 p.m. Sept. 12 in the 700 block of Elaine Road.

* A breaking-and-entering incident was reported at 2:15 a.m. Sept. 13 in the 4800 block of East Main Street.

* Police arrested a 13-year-old boy for assault at 11 a.m. Sept. 13 at an apartment in the 4600 block of East Main Street. The arrest was in connection to an assault at Rosemore Middle School.

* A burglary was reported at 3:05 p.m. Sept. 13 at a residence in the 4600 block of Jae Avenue.

* Police reported a theft at 5 p.m. Sept. 13 at Rosemore Middle School, 4800 Langley Avenue.

* Police responded to a report of shots fired at 7:45 p.m. Sept. 14 in the 4800 block of Etna Road. No physical evidence or suspects were identified.

* Police responded to a report of shots fired at 3:10 a.m. Sept. 15 at East Main Street and Maplewood Avenue.

* Property damage was reported at 10:50 a.m. Sept. 15 in the 700 block of South Hamilton Road.

* A burglary was reported at 6 p.m. Sept. 15 at a residence in the 300 block of Maplewood Avenue.

* Police reported a theft at 1 p.m. Sept. 16 in the 100 block of South Hamilton Road.

* Police arrested a 17-year-old boy for receiving stolen property at 4 a.m. Sept. 17 at an apartment in the 1000 block of Irongate Lane.

* Police arrested a 50-year-old man for aggravated menacing at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 17 in the 300 block of South Yearling Road.

* A burglary was reported at 11:20 a.m. Sept. 17 at a residence in the 3700 block of Doney Street.

* Police responded to a report of shots fired at 11:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at South Hamilton Road and Fairway Boulevard.

* Police arrested a 26-year-old woman for OVI, driving without a license, driving with a suspended license and three counts each of endangering children and failure to use a child restraint at 9:45 p.m. Sept. 17 in the 400 block of South Yearling Road.

* Police responded to a report of shots fired at 5 a.m. Sept. 18 in the 500 block of Briarwood Drive.

* Police arrested a 22-year-old woman for theft at 1 a.m. Sept. 19 in the 4600 block of Faith Avenue.

* A burglary was reported at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 19 in the 3900 block of Andrus Court.

* Police reported a burglary at 10:45 a.m. Sept. 19 at an apartment in the 5300 block of Gatehouse Lane.

* A burglary was reported at 12:55 p.m. Sept. 19 in the 200 block of Barkley Place West.

* Police arrested three men, ages 20, 20 and 21, for disorderly conduct and obstructing official business at 5 p.m. Sept. 19 at Walmart, 3657 E. Main St.
