Whitehall police looking for Paradise Sheesha Lounge shooter
Whitehall police say they have identified the man who shot another man early Sept. 11 inside the Paradise Sheesha Lounge, 1121 S. Hamilton Road.
Police have charged Kindishe G. Tewolde, 31, with one count of felonious assault and issued a warrant for his arrest.
Tewolde has no known permanent address, and his location has been unknown since the shooting occurred, Whitehall Sgt. Dan Kelso said.
“He’s a floater,” Kelso said.
Tewolde is considered armed and dangerous, police said.
Tewolde allegedly shot 39-year-old Dennis Lawson, of east Columbus, about 2:45 a.m. Sept. 1 after a dispute inside the Paradise Sheesha Lounge.
Tewolde and Lawson were believed to be acquainted, Kelso said.
Several people witnesses the shooting, police said.
Lawson sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the shooting and was transported to Grant Medical Center, where he was admitted in stable condition immediately after the shooting.
Police are asking the public for assistance in finding Tewolde.
