Whitehall police have identified the boy who died Feb. 27 at an Eastway Court apartment.
No charges had been filed as of 9:30 p.m. Feb. 27 following the death of 4-year-old Carlos Mullins Jr.
About 2 p.m. Feb. 27, Whitehall medics and police responded to a report of a child who was not breathing at an apartment at 4613 Eastway Court.
Medics could not resuscitate Mullins, and he was pronounced dead, Whitehall Sgt. John Grebb said in a press release.
Grebb said a kitchen stove appears to have toppled onto Mullins.
Police are investigating the death as suspicious in nature, according to the press release.
The cause of death and circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation.
Whitehall police, the Franklin County Coroner’s Office and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation jointly are investigating to determine a cause of death.
An autopsy is scheduled for Feb. 28.
Mullins’ mother, Luwanna Mosley, 25, was at the apartment at the time, police said.
Police interviewed Mosley at the police station, according to the release.
