Ten well-known central Ohio artists will sell their works at a special "affordable art" sale in downtown Worthington this weekend.

The sale will be in a room above the Wren House, at 695 High St., where Worthington artist Lynn Bird paints at Out on a Limb Studios.

She and a group of other artists decided to hold this one-time event to sell some of their works to the public.

Most of the artists are represented by galleries. It is a high-caliber group of people, Bird said.

"All of us have artwork that collects around our houses that is not perfect for a gallery, but would be perfect on a wall somewhere," Bird said.

Besides paintings, there will lots of jewelry, Christmas ornaments, some painted clothing and even note cards.

Bird works mostly in oils, painting landscapes and portraits --people and dogs.

Other artists who will sell "affordable art" are Anastasia Horowitz, oil paintings; Jim Glover, animals, wildlife, and landscape paintings; Michael McEwan, prints and note cards; Donna McEwan, jewelry; Karen LaValley, paintings, Christmas ornaments, painted clothing; Joe Lombardo, paintings; Valerie Dunning-Edwards, all kinds of arts and crafts; Susan Steger, jewelry; and Annette Simon, jewelry and paintings.

Santa will greet visitors at the door, and refreshments will be served.

Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and Sunday noon to 6 p.m., during the Old Worthington Open House.
