Two local Dignity Memorial providers are participating in a drive to benefit the Mid-Ohio Foodbank as part of the annual Operation Feed project.

Residents can drop off food items between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E. Broad St., Columbus, and at Sunset Cemetery, 6959 W. Broad St., Galloway, through May 25.

The goal is to fill three 50-foot semi-trailers.

Needed items include canned pasta meals, peanut butter, canned fruit, tuna, soup, canned vegetables and canned meat. All donations go to feed hungry people in central Ohio.

The Childhood League's annual fundraiser will feature the theme "Celebrate Broadway, Celebrate Kids."

The event will be held Saturday, May 9, at the Aladdin Shrine Center, 3850 Stelzer Road. Merry Go Round will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a patron reception, followed by dinner and the live auction.

Entertainment will be provided by Dwight Lenox.

A variety of live and silent auction items will be up for bid.

Patron dinner tickets, which include the dinner, show and both auctions, are $250 per person. General admission is $75 and includes the show, auctions, dessert and coffee. The event is hosted by the Childhood League, a volunteer organization of 100 women who raise operating funds, guide the mission of the Childhood League Center and volunteer in its classrooms.
