Perry Middle School students Janny Lee, Adelaide Boyles and Bryn Caswell were recently named winners of the Patriot's Pen Writing Contest.

Perry Middle School students Janny Lee, Adelaide Boyles and Bryn Caswell were recently named winners of the Patriot's Pen Writing Contest.

The contest was sponsored by the Brigadier General Paul W. Tibbets Memorial VFW Post 2398. Worthington City School district students in grades six through eight were invited to enter by writing an essay on the topic "Why We Should Honor Our Veterans."

Winners were honored in a formal ceremony with several distinguished guests in attendance. Lee placed first and received a check for $75. Boyles placed second, receiving a check for $50, and Caswell placed third, winning $25.

Lee will advance to the state level of competition.
