There is never an excuse to stay home, except during Hi Neighbor Month, when residents are encouraged to get together on their own front lawns and get reacquainted with those who live nearby.

But the rest of the summer in the city, events call out for community members to gather downtown or at other sites throughout the city and listen to music, shop for art or fleas, sample food, watch movies or speeding cyclists, or enjoy fireworks.

Weekly events are the farmers markets which are held each Saturday morning through October on High Street and the family concerts on the Green, held each Sunday night at 7 on the Northwest quadrant of the Village Green.
