Frank Baum's novel, which won two Academy Awards in 1940, was ranked the 10th greatest movie of all time by the American Film Institute in 2007.

Show your own costume creativity by dressing up as your favorite character from the movie. Prizes go to everyone who participates.

An American Tail

(Rated G, 80 minutes)

During "An American Tail," which will be shown on Aug. 7, the Mousekewitz's young son, Fievel, gets lost during their journey to America and faces dangers and opportunities as he searches for his family.

Released in 1986, "An American Tail" became the highest grossing non-Disney produced animated feature, and was also one of the first animated films to outdraw a Disney film, beating out "The Great Mouse Detective."

Like the screening of "The Wizard of Oz," those watching "An American Tail" will receive a prize if they attend in costume, this time dressed as mice.

Friday Night at the Movies is sponsored by the Friends Foundation of Worthington Libraries.
