A Worthington family that has had three members afflicted with type 1 diabetes will participate in a block party fundraiser for juvenile diabetes 4-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at Selby Park, Colonial Hills, Worthington.

Two-year-old Carter Jones and his father, Brady Jones, both have type 1 diabetes, as did Brady's father, William "Woody" Jones, who died this year at age 64.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The block party will include non-alcoholic beverages, children's activities, a silent auction and an adult corn hole tournament.

Northpointe Dance Studio and Boosters, Lewis Center, has designated JDRF its non-profit organization and will match some donations and bring its dancers to the block party.

Other participating businesses are Kroger, Market Day, Dairy Queen, Mitchell's Steak House and Yankee Trader.
