John Spillane, a native of Cork, Ireland, will perform at the McConnell Arts Center, 777 Evening St., at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25.

John Spillane, a native of Cork, Ireland, will perform at the McConnell Arts Center, 777 Evening St., at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25.

The performance will mark Spillane's Ohio debut.

After obtaining a degree in Irish and English from University College Cork, Spillane played acoustic guitar and fretless electric bass for the Irish band, Nomos.

He left the band to pursue a solo career which has spanned almost 15 years.

Tickets are $25.


The Worthington Area Art League will present its spring show, "Arts Alive in Technicolor," March 3-27 at High Road Gallery, 12 E. Stafford Ave.

Artists will exhibit in a variety of media, including pastel, oils, drawing, photography and watercolor.

Glass Axis artists will present a varied and colorful complement of glass vessels, sculpture and jewelry.

A free reception will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 7. All are invited to meet the artists. Awards will be presented.

Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturday.
