Old Worthington Library's Thursday morning book discussion group will meet at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, to discuss "Traveling with Pomegranates" by Sue Monk Kidd and Ann Kidd Taylor. This wise and involving book discusses feminine thresholds, spiritual growth and renewal.

Children in kindergarten through third grade will explore the secrets of science using stories, songs and activities during "Science Secrets." Programs begin at 10:30 a.m. at Northwest Library. Feb. 27: balloonamania. March 27: powerful forces. April 24: wondrous water.

The Speaking Volumes book discussion group will meet to discuss "The Necklace" by Cheryl Jarvis at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, at Old Worthington Library. "The Necklace" is the true story of 13 women who took a chance on a $37,000 diamond necklace, ultimately learning about themselves, friendship and the power of possibility.

"Share the Love. Read." is the theme of the 2010 summer reading club. Children in preschool through sixth grade are encouraged to interpret the theme and enter the library's bookmark illustration contest. Winning entries will be turned into bookmarks to promote the summer reading club. Three entries each will be chosen in the preschool-kindergarten, first- through third-grade and fourth- through sixth-grade categories.

Contest rules and bookmark templates are available at all Worthington Libraries locations. Entrants may submit up to three drawings by March 31.
