Gibson returns to Worthington Libraries as director
Chuck Gibson has been named director of the Worthington Libraries.
Gibson worked for the library system from 1995 to 2007, when he left to become director of the South Georgia Regional Library System in Valdosta, Ga.
He will succeed Meribah Mansfield, who will retire July 23 after 19 years as director.
The library's board of trustees made the appointment at its June 15 meeting, ending a nationwide search for a new library director.
Gibson was associate director of public services at the Worthington Libraries from 2002 to 2007. He was technical coordinator from 1995 to 2002.
He was active in the development of the Northwest Library and the Worthington Park Library, and served on the board of the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce.
At the South Georgia system, Gibson was responsible for overseeing library operations in six facilities in three counties.
