On Saturday, Aug. 28, a select group of Worthington dogs will be sent out to do their duty, literally, during the Doo Doo Derby, hosted by Worthington Organized Off-leash Friends (WOOF).

The event is a fundraiser for the new Worthington dog park.

For the Doo Doo Derby, a grid of 400 squares will be marked on the ground. Groups of dogs will be released and if a dog does its duty on one of the squares, the person who purchased that square wins a cash prize.

Prizes are $500 for first place, $250 for second place and $125 for third place. Judges will be on hand to determine the official winning squares.

Squares are $10 each and can be purchased in advance at The Candle Lab, located in The Quarter in downtown Worthington, or by e-mailing info@worthingtondogpark.com. Squares may also be purchased at the event, prior to the start of the event.

The Doo Doo Derby will be held at 5567 Sinclair Road at 1p.m. The event is sponsored by Pet Butler.
