The Chamber Music Connection will present its chamber orchestras in concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 35 E. Stanton Ave.

The Chamber Music Connection will present its chamber orchestras in concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 35 E. Stanton Ave.

The concert will feature senior soloists, including Worthington residents Ruthie Cordray, a student at Columbus Academy, and Heeyeon Chung, a student at Thomas Worthington High School.

Other Worthington residents participating include: Elizabeth Chiu, Emma Cordray, Joy Dong, Eva Kennedy, Anna Lisa, Sammy Lisa, Jennifer Messenger, Matthew Webb, Leia Withee, Steven Dailey, Rebekah Lee, Patrick Lenzotti, Kevin Liu, Eric Magnuson, Bradley Polivka, Amelia Rosenberg and Daniel Woo.

Sea Scout Ship 280 (Venturing, Boy Scouts of America) will perform a United States Flag Retirement Ceremony at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at Leatherlips Yacht Club.

The purpose of the ceremony is to promote American heritage and provide a community service by honorably disposing of worn United States flags. Flags will be retired by burning with honor and dignity during the ceremony.

Those who have a worn flag they would like to retire may drop it off at Leatherlips Yacht Club, 9230 Shawnee Trail, Powell. Flags may be left at the gate in the event that no one is available to assist visitors.

Congregation Beth Tikvah, 6121 Olentangy River Road, will hold its annual Mitzvah Day Sunday, Nov. 7.

Mitzvah Day is an opportunity for congregation members to fulfill the commandment of doing good deeds. Activities will include making lunches for the homeless, working at local animal shelters, visiting the elderly, beautification projects at an elementary school, visiting the YWCA Family Shelter, letter writing and more.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. Nov. 7. At 4 p.m., soprano Madeline Rivera will present a concert at Broad Street Presbyterian Church, 760 E. Broad St.
