Highlands Presbyterian Church, 6909 Smoky Row Road, is offering a free four-part seminar series open to the public.

The series, titled "In God's Time, All is Remembered and Renewed," will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on four consecutive Sundays beginning Jan. 30. Scheduled topics are:

Jan. 30 Linda Artis, the executive director for Senior Independence of Central Ohio and author of "The iCaregiver Guide for Senior Independence," will review the contents of the guide and discuss why people should have conversations with their loved ones about this topic now. Copies of the iCaregiver Guide will be available for $15.

Feb. 6: Diane Saupe, church relations director of Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services, will present, "My Life, My Wishes, Let's Talk About It." For those who wonder whether their wishes, religious beliefs and values would be followed if they could not communicate tomorrow? Participants will receive a step-by-step workbook to begin answering these questions. In addition, official blank documents including the "Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care" and the "Living Will" will be made available.

Feb. 13: Wade Hamilton, an elder care attorney, will talk about the legal aspects of end-of-life decisions and the necessary documentation.

Feb. 20: The Rev. Beverly Schmidt, a retired Presbyterian minister, will lead a discussion on "Living Life to the End with Love and Purpose." She will address the spiritual and emotional aspects of this process.

St. John's Episcopal Church, 700 High St., will host a free community meal for anyone in need at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27. Everyone is welcome to attend. The menu will consist of spaghetti and meatballs. Salad, fruit, milk, juice, water, coffee and tea will also be offered.

The congregation at St. John's will continue to offer this community meal on the last Thursday of every month.
