The Worthington Department of Public Service is reporting that two incidents of sanitary-sewer overflow have occurred in the city.

Crews on Feb. 28 responded to the vicinity of Chaucer Court, near Rush Run. On Feb. 25, overflow was reported in the vicinity of Haymore Drive, near the Olentangy River.

City crews are cleaning both areas, as well as mitigating the overflow. The best way to avoid possible health effects from exposure to untreated sewerage is to avoid contact with the affected area until the city has finished cleaning the area and has stopped the overflow, a release from the city stated.

Anyone who notices a sewer overflow or who has questions should call the Worthington Department of Public Service at (614) 431-2425.
