Bikes will speed through the streets of Worthington Estates on Friday, Aug. 3, for the annual Tour of Ohio race.

Bikes will speed through the streets of Worthington Estates on Friday, Aug. 3, for the annual Tour of Ohio race.

Cyclists of all ages and abilities are invited to take part in the ride, which will include categories for amateurs and children and the featured professional race.

The race will begin on Guyer Street, at the entrance to Worthingway Middle School.

The course follows Guyer to Longfellow Avenue, to Masefield Street, to Stevenson Avenue, to Thackeray Avenue, to Lambourne Avenue and then to Guyer Street.

The Worthington Amateur Open will begin at 6:30 p.m. It is open to all cyclists. Registration begins at the site at 5 p.m. or may be done online at truesport.com.

Children will race at 7:15. Registration begins at 5:30 on site. Professional racing begins at 7:30.

The race organizers encourage fans to come out and cheer on the racers. People who live along the course often have parties in their front yards.

Parking won't be permitted on the streets along the route beginning Thursday, Aug. 2.

Streets will be closed to all but local traffic at 6 p.m. on Friday, and all traffic will be prohibited beginning at 6:15.
