Worthington police reports
Nine vehicles were entered and items stolen between Aug. 25 and 29. Overnight on Aug. 25, change was stolen from a vehicle in the 800 block of Griswold Street, and a camera was stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Halligan Avenue. Overnight on Aug. 26, a utility knife was stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Northigh Drive. Overnight on Aug. 28, a cellphone and wallet were stolen from a vehicle in the 300 block of Eastworth Court; a GPS was stolen from a second vehicle in the 300 block of Eastworth Court; and a GPS, gun accessories, darts and a pocket knife were stolen from two vehicles at a residence in the 100 block of Abbot Avenue. Overnight on Aug. 29, a purse was stolen from a vehicle in the 800 block of Oxford Street.
On Aug. 29 at 1:30 a.m., police received a call from a resident of the 6800 block of Highland Place, reporting two men with flashlights in the area. Police apprehended two suspects. A walk of the neighborhood revealed unlocked vehicles had been entered. A 27-year-old man was charged and taken to the Franklin County Jail, and his 26-year-old accomplice was interviewed.
Four vehicles were damaged by vandals between Aug. 24 and 28. In the 6900 block of Eastview Drive, two vehicles were scratched. In the 200 block of Highland Avenue, a vehicle was damaged with a sharp object. In the 100 block of Heischman, a vehicle was scratched and the paint gouged.
On Aug. 24 at 1 a.m. in the first block of West North Street, copper piping was stolen from a vacant house. Loss was estimated at $6,000.
Between Aug. 24 and 27 in the 6300 block of Huntley Road, someone climbed onto the roof and broke skylights, but no entry was made.
